Before you start
Your business details, logo and photographs, a list of services, and a place to collect notes.
Choose the main customer action
Write down the most important action the website should encourage: call, send a WhatsApp enquiry, request a quote or book a visit. Explain what a successful enquiry looks like and who will respond.
Describe your audience and offer
List the customers you serve, the locations that matter and your main products or services. Explain the questions customers usually ask before buying. Add factual reasons to choose your business, such as capabilities or experience you can support.
List the pages and required features
Start with the information visitors need, then group it into pages such as services, about, contact and guides. List any requested feature separately, including a virtual tour, enquiry form, catalogue or booking system. Mark which features are essential for launch.
Gather approved content and brand assets
Collect your logo, accurate contact details, opening hours, service descriptions and photographs you have permission to use. Note any content that still needs to be written or photographed. Keep original files where available.
Share references and practical limits
Choose a few websites and explain what you like about their layout, navigation or photography. State your budget range, target launch date, existing domain and hosting arrangements. Ask what ongoing support, subscriptions or renewal costs the proposal includes.
Agree the review and launch checklist
Name one person who can approve content and design. Ask for a mobile review, working contact links and a clear handover of agreed assets. Record who will maintain the website and how future changes will be requested.
Your next step
Send the brief with your available assets and ask for a written scope, timeline and quote. Keep a copy of the agreed requirements for the final review.
